SNK has taken down the internet today by releasing a quite revealing new Samurai Shodown Trailer. check it out below:

SNK held a press event in London and New york last week and showed the game and offered tons of information about the game and what to expect.

First of all let’s go ahead and state the clear fact:Samurai shodown is releasing in June on PS4 and Xbox One. A Switch version will be released in Q4 with a steam version to follow shortly. Which is a bit a bummer for PC fans who were hoping to join in the action this summer.

The game was confirmed as a reboot of the series, and will offer 16 characters at launch. 13 of them are returning, and 3 brand new ones. More characters will be added as DLC post launch including at least one guest character, that will fit the era and style of the game.

The returning characters have all been confirmed and they are: Haohmaru, Nakoruru, Charlotte, Ukyo, Galford, Genjuro, Jubei, Earthqucke, Yoshitora, Kyoshiro, Hanzo, Tam Tam and Shiki.

In terms of game modes, Samurai Shodown offers a story mode, which your classic arcade ladder, with an intro and probably endings, so we will not be getting any sort of cinematic story mode as I hoped but that’s ok. A battle mode, which allows you to fight against another player or CPU, Practice,  Database which I believe is where you would be able to see your stats, a Gallery mode to, and dojo. The latter has been announced as the revolutionary feature of the game as it basically uses AI to mimic playaer’s playstyle. This feature, as we have guessed, will allow you to fight against the ghost data of famous players as well as yours or your friends. A Pretty cool feature that should help players exceed their own levels.
