In an unexpected turn of event, SNK has announced during the currently ongoing KOFest18 tournament event, that the King Of Fighters XIV will be getting a new update before the end of the current year.

What will this update have is anyone’s guess, but looking at how soon this update is coming out it is unrealistic to expect extra content. Our guess is a final balance patch to fix the current domination of Shun’ei’s and Najds.

It could still be possible that SNK will sneak in couple fighters that already have models, like Shermie and Miss X. An old rumor by the famous dataminer, X-Kira, revealed that the game has files for few characters that have to appear. These are Shingo Yabuki, Chizuru Kagura, and Jubei Yamada.
