A very quick update on the King Of Fighters Destiny animated series. Those of you unaware, KOF destiny is a CGI anime series that launched in 2017 online and was a modernized retelling of the King Of Fighters 94 story.
The anime was produced by Chinese animation studio idragons, and the plan was for the series to go on for at least 2 more season and a movie that would be set around the massive event of KOf 97. The first season was a massive success after drawing millions of views, SNK chairman went ahead to announce more than a year ago than season was in the works, however we never heard anything about it.
I got a chance to interview the idragons team few months ago who confirmed that the series is on hiatus. Now I apologize to be the bearer of bad news, but at this point it certainly looks like the series has been cancelled.
Going to Idragons website you would ee the updated description of the series, while previously it stated that the series will have 3 season dna movie, it now says that Idragon was proud to work on the series that was completed in 2018. And from what I am hearing the series is cancelled. I hope I am mistaken and SNK has hired another studio? Time will tell!
