During SNK’s IPO presentation, the company’s chairman, Mr Zhihui GE spoke at length on The King Of Fighters Series. Fans of SNK and KOF will remember how the gaming community were unhappy with how The King Of Fighters XIV looked when revealed. the game was ridiculed for its outdated look. Granted, SNK did improve the game lokk a bit, yet it is still undeniable that KOFXIV did not look great. Well, according to Mr GE SNK was also not happy with how The game looked.

Mr Zhihui started by promising that Samurai Shodown and KOFXV will be different. He then added the following: “We were developing KOF14 for a long time, It was a long-term difficult project, and i believe it was pushed in the wrong direction. the final game turned out good, but it did not produce the wanted results. If it came out in 2013, it would have been okay, but it will was released in 2016 and the graphics did not look 2016.“

After blasting KOFXIV graphics SNK chairman switched focus on the the 2020 The King Of Fighters XV, which he confirmed will be using Unreal Engine 4: “The results using UE4 are much better than expected. Samurai Spirits looks good But I think that KOF15 is going to look even better as our engine proficiency increases is getting better. KOFXV will be a much better game. (Compared to KOFXIV)“

SNK will be focusing on KOFXIV in a future Investors presentation tentatively dated for May 5th 2019.
