Out of nowhere, SNK has announced a new KOF animated project. The King Of Fighters Destiny is brand new 20 episodes CGI animated series that will premiere this summer in China and Japan.

Details on the series are very scarced, but looking at the above trailer we can guess that this taking the franchise’s story to the very beginning, showing Kyo in his earlu attire  with glimpses of Rugal, the boss character of KOF 94 and 95 among others. The trailer also shows Jeff Bogard, adoptive father of Terry and andy, taking on Geese Howard, which means the series might explore the back stories of some of the franchise’s characters.

The official site of The King Of Fighters Destiny explains that the animated project will feature a number of characters from the franchise’s large roster, these will include: Kyo Kusanagi, Benimaru Nikaido, Goro Daimon, Terry Bogard, Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi, Ryo Sakazaki, Robert Garcia, Yuri Sakazaki, Billy Kane, Rugal, Clark, and Geese Howard.

Whether this is the same anime series that was previously announced by SNK and 37games is unknown, but we have sent request and questions regarding it and will update you guys as soon as we find out.
